Neil is a Grey College Bloemfontein old boy and after his schooling and army conscription he studied at Wits University for 6 years, as a full-time articled clerk and studied after hours until he qualified.
Neil is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants but initially spent 13 of his post qualification years with The South African Institute of Professional Accountants and with a membership number of 115, he was almost a founder member.
Neil was inter-Alia past president of the South African Institute of Professional Accountants, (SAIPA) and served on IFAC's (The International Federation of Accountants) Financial Management Accounting Committee for three years.
Through his undaunting spirit and effort he secured full membership for SAIPA to the IFAC, which catapulted the Institute into the International Arena.
In 2004 he was awarded the SAIPA President’s Award for his contributions made in furthering the accounting profession in South Africa.
Neil established an accounting practice in Amanzimtoti in 1980 after coming from a corporate environment.
Neil ensured a solid training for all his children in the IT industry through which they were able to secure very senior positions internationally.
Neil’s daughter Candida has remained steadfastly secured in South Africa and she has once again joined him in the practice to drive the 4th Industrial Revolution, the IT revolution, spearheaded by Xero and other cloud-based information systems set to revolutionize the accounting industry.
Candida is the Operations Director (COO) of the South Coast Advisory Group.
She deals with the staff, their projects and all the IT infrastructure of the company as well as the roll out of Xero Accounting Software to our clients.
With her managerial and consulting experience in the Retail sector, as well as her experience in the ICT sector as a Xero Certified Advisor, Talent Acquisition Specialist - (ICT) and knowledge of ERP as a trainer and consultant. She is well placed to manage operations.
